How to buy cryptocurrency in Spain?

This guide will help you create a Trust Wallet or exchange account and fund it using a card, PayPal or a crypto ATM in Spain.

Step 1: Choose and create a wallet or exchange account

Option A: Trust Wallet (Decentralized wallet)

Pros: Full control over your money, anonymity, access to thousands of coins.
Cons: You are solely responsible for security. If you lose your seed phrase, there is no way to get your funds back.

Download the app: Go to the Official App Store (Google Play) or App Store (for iPhone). Find Trust Wallet and download it. Make sure it is from Trust Wallet» https://trustwallet.com

Create a wallet: Open the app and click «Create a new wallet».

Write down your Seed Phrase (Recovery Key Phrase): The app will show you 12 or 24 random words. This is the most important step!

Write them down on paper in the exact order.

Never share these words with anyone. Neither Trust Wallet nor the support staff will ever ask for them.

Don't take screenshots or store in the cloud.

Confirm the phrase: The app will ask you to enter a few words from the phrase to make sure you wrote it down.

That's it! Your wallet is created. Now you can top it up.

Option B: Register on an exchange (e.g. Binance, Kraken)

Pros: Simple interface, you can buy cryptocurrency for euros, high level of security (2FA).
Cons: Identity verification (KYC) is required, you do not store private keys.

Choose an exchange: Binance, Kraken or Bitstamp are popular for Spanish users.

Register: Go to the official website of the selected exchange (e.g. www.binance.com) and click "Register".

Enter your details: Enter your email and create a strong password.

Step 2: Funding your account (How to buy cryptocurrency in Spain)

Method 1: Bank card (Visa/Mastercard)

This is the easiest method both in Trust Wallet and on exchanges.

In Trust Wallet:

• Click "Buy".
• Select an asset (e.g. USDT, BTC, ETH) and a provider (e.g. Mercuryo, Ramp).
• Select the payment method "Credit card".
• Enter your Spanish bank card details (e.g. Santander, CaixaBank, BBVA) and complete the purchase. The fee will be indicated before confirmation.

On an exchange (e.g. Binance):

• On the main page, find the “Buy crypto” button.
• Select the EUR currency and cryptocurrency (e.g. USDT).
• Select a provider (e.g. Stripe, Banxa).
• Enter the amount and card details. The funds are credited almost instantly.

Method 2. Crypto ATMs (Bitcoin ATM) in Spain

This method is ideal for anonymous purchases with cash (euro). The option is absolutely safe.

Find your nearest crypto ATM:

Go to https://coinatmradar.com/country/199/bitcoin-atm-spain or other service. The map will show all the terminals in Barcelona. Pay attention to:

• Green marks - working terminals.
• Operator (for example, Bitbase is the most popular in Spain).
• Features: Make sure the terminal supports selling (Buy) and the coins you need (for example, BTC, ETH, USDT).

How to use:

• Go to the terminal.
• Select the option "Buy USDT" (or another coin).
• Scan the QR code of your wallet. Open Trust Wallet in advance, find the asset you need (for example, Bitcoin) and click "Receive" to see the QR code.
• Put cash euros into the bill acceptor.
• Confirm the transaction. The terminal will send the coins to your address. Usually it takes 10-30 minutes.
